Bare Rose Boho and Business

Posted by Unknown On 11:55 AM 0 comments

So I was in a bit of a quirky mood today and played a bit with some things I had in my inventory. If you’re ever looking to work on your style or create entirely new looks I would advise one and all to take a look at their own closets and use their imagination. It’s amazing how someone I once looked in my 20K filled inventory and complained about having nothing to wear when half of the things I had, I hadn’t even bothered to open after purchasing so it seemed like Christmas time when I finally did.

I was recently organizing a fashion show where part of the theme was Bohemian fashions and it gave me some inspirations to play with a bit. I wanted to wear something fun, colorful and a little offbeat and I think I found my goal.

Check out the Read more tab to see more fashions!

I had nearly forgotten I had a business meeting that day and had to find something appropriate quick in order to make it over there on time and was lucky enough to remember a few pieces i had that I thought would go great together! One of my favorite of all stores in second life is Bare Rose which I think I mentioned in a previous post but it really does bear repeating! They have a bit of everything and I swear when I step in there I feel like I’ve gone to fashion wonderland but then I love a bit of drama in my outfits to add a bit of flair to a design!

Lady Bejewled

From the time that I began modeling within second life I realized a true appreciation for jewelry, and this is coming from a woman that never bothered with jewelry a day in her life except for a necklace or a pair of earrings that I had on handy. I only really ever owned about 5 pair of earrings and two necklaces total- no bracelets or rings or anything like that. And I bet you wonder if they even matched- not one time did I really ever think about matching anything or how it all went together. SL modeling has had such a great effect on how I see the world of fashion in the real world now and how I take care of myself in real as I’m sure the same can be said for many women and men out there reading this now.

Today I was in a chic, sophisticated mood and needed just the right jewelry to set it off. I had heard about the new releases a bit back with Leezu and new that this would be the perfect opportunity to grab them up- high quality high-waisted pants are so hard to find in second life nowadays! Paired with the lovely and breezy belled arm white blouse from DeLa and some cute, sassy heels from Kookie this outfit says it all for the high powered female of the 21st century! You want to look the best, be the best, then you need to dress the best. The skin is my favorite piece of the entire outfit to be honest. It’s quite hard to find great quality skins of colors- not as hard as it was years ago but still difficult and requires a bit of searching around. There’s usually minor flaws that most tend to overlook but I’m a self admitted perfectionist and I doubt that is ever going to change. This skin store is new and steadily growing but as the designer is a friend of mine I was glad to get some peeks at his great skins and even was asked to for any suggestions on improvement so you just may be see some new additions coming to his store soon- keep an eye out!

Sweet Vive9

Just have to love the sweetness of (vive9) skins!

Well there was a new release recently with vive9 skin and I had to get it. Now when I first heard of vive9 I was a bit skeptical of the look, it took a minute for me to really appreciate the quality and uniqueness of this skin. But after a while I was convinced that I the price was definitely worth it. The pink sweetly turned down lip with a few front teeth showing gives a great innocent look and coupled with some dark, dramatic lashes it just really completes the look. At first I was going to go for a valentine day themed and inspired look in a bit more obvious manner but I decided to play with my inventory and this is what I came up with. I’m moving away from my addiction to red and finding the greatness of pink and all that it can really do for a look!

I was in a budget crisis when suddenly it came to me- why don’t I play around with my inventory and create entirely new looks from what I already owned? It’s a practice I encourage every model to take part in as it’s not only fun but it inspires and awakens your creative senses! In this outfit I wanted to go for something sweet and naughty at the same time. The pink lip and sweetly flowing white corset really balance out the bold and black of the top. At first glance one would think it would be overpowering with so many ruffles but as you truly notice the simplicity of the dress you really get the appreciation for the two totally different pieces complementing one another.

Just any other day?

Posted by Unknown On 11:07 AM 0 comments

Who said that you have to cover up for fall? I know I sure didn’t! I was sitting at home the other day, hot as hell and annoyed with the fact that my clothes kept getting in the way. [no I didn't end up taking it all off tyvm.] Prims are a marvelous thing, especially on an outfit as it can add class, style and just that extra bit of something that other layer-only outfits seem to lack. I love them to death except when the designer ends up creating an outfit only a stick could squeeze their bony behinds into [not all us are a size -10 you know!]. But I’m digressing- again- so let me get back to my point. I was sitting around, annoyed with my oh-so-new and shiny outfit [the product of another successful fashion venture I might add!] when I decided to risk my perfectly proportioned pixels [yes my pixels are perfect!] in a war against the lag to take a peek at my favorite designer’s store- LeeZu! Yes I know what some of you may be thinking: I’ve nearly built a virtual and blogging shrine to her designs but I’m here to tell you about fashion and quality and these designs ARE quality soooooo…..you’ll just have to get over it!

Anyhoo, I was battling the lag when- wouldn’t you know it!- I ran smack damn into a huge wall and fell flat on my behind. After collecting my wits and spare change before the crazy hobos could attack, I got up to curse the wall and everything else in that store. Why in the world do they make everything high rez nowadays?! Don’t you all know that not all of us- the vast majority actually- do not have super computers that we hand-built! I can barely get my email open without causing a major meltdown on my computer, and no it’s not old, I’m just bad. [laughs] So there I was, taking a breath to spew some major hate on that sadistic prim they like to call a wall when I saw it! It was magical, pure heaven! My eyes glazed over- yes there was definitely some glaze-age going on- and my mouth started to water (I just thank god I didn’t start drooling.) It was LeeZu’s Margo Jacket and I was bowled over, I’m not quite sure how I missed this- probably on one of those day I was walking through a sea of grey because my graphics card had gone on strike and refused to help rez anything on my screen! But as they say, it was better late than never!

The minute I saw this outfit an entire look came to me in a dream, okay it was during my hallucinating mushroom moments but all the same it came to me! I was in shock and in pleasure at this look and decided that it was a sign that I had to create it as soon as possible. Wouldn’t you believe it that it took me all of three days to find everything I needed to style this outfit. Sounds unbelievable doesn’t it? Well it’s not. I typically spend quite a time just LOOKING for things to fit a style and not saving up for the actual outfit. I chose small things with red highlights to accentuate my skin and give it that great goth/punk feel.

On this quest I wanted to punk it up and go with something that was so unconventional it would make even the most hardcore conservative stand up and say “I need that look!” because isn’t that what selling clothes and designs is all about? Now there were several ways I could’ve taken it- a nice classic look or this style. I was in writers block mode so I tried to go out of the box to get my juices flowing and I think I succeeded rather beautifully!
